When is enough, enough?

When is enough, enough?

I’ve been lucky enough to sit down with hundreds of men and women that contact The Lodge in an effort to make a change to their health and fitness.

Many of those we have helped have made a big change, and we have taught them completely new habits. They have a new- found love for health and fitness in a balanced way.

But…..

This blog is for the select few that we have invited into The Fitness Lodge but sadly they have cancelled or not shown up. This pains us at The Lodge as we like to help as many people as possible. Many of them have had exactly the same hurdles to overcome as the action takers above.

These hurdles could be…

  • Lack of knowledge.
  • Low or no motivation.
  • Lack of support.
  • Lack of results.

Many of these people could be quite seriously overweight / technically obese, which naturally means they are at risk of some serious health complications. I’m talking about people with serious health issues. Issues which can cause diabetes, heart conditions and more often than not effect their mobility, making everyday life awkward… walking up stairs, getting out of bed, unable to walk very far unaided. Constantly out of breath.

One thing that always shocks us……

They have spent a chunk of their time completing one of our quite long application forms. They have taken a call from one of The Lodge support team and they have booked in a session. They always sound excited. We know you feel satisfied because you have taken the 1st steps to changing your lifestyle. You feel good because you have booked in for your session so this is your time to make some big changes, to get back on track. That quite small commitment makes you instantly feel good! You feel satisfied and content.

But what happens next???

The appointment day arrives and for whatever reason life gets in the way and you cancel or don’t turn up to your appointment. Not every time, but often you’ve just given yourself an excuse.

So what happens after that???

You instantly feel bad, you’re floating again, with nothing in the calendar to help you change.Your on your own. Normally time goes by and no changes get made. You’re stuck right back in the familiar rut. This can be one of the reasons why… some people with quite obvious health concerns aren’t willing to sacrifice a few life’s luxuries, even in the effort to make a mends and a few lifestyle changes needed to turn their health around.

BECAUSE it can be scary, and difficult on your own.It requires a change.

Not willing to…

  • Stop smoking
  • Cut down on several coffees per day
  • Cut down on the alcohol
  • Start exercising
  • Prepare food in advance.

Etc…..

It’s a shame as we only get one body and one shot at looking after it.I understand it’s not easy on your own, and that it can be very scary. As humans we like stability, we take comfort in structure and sticking to what we know, it creates a safe haven, but….

When is enough, enough?

When do you say I’ve had it. I CAN make a change!I WILL change my life

You don’t need to do it alone, once you have made a few changes. It gets easier trust me I’ve seen it many time before. After a while you start to see results, you feel great, your energy is up! Lung function improves, you can walk further, everyday life is just simpler. Your weight goes down, making mobility improve greatly. At The Fitness Lodge we love to help people who really need our first class support and guidance to take back control of your health and fitness.

So……

Are you our next success story?Don’t leave it too late. It’s all in YOUR control!Reach out.
